Employee Training

Employee Training

We respond to your individual needs.

Employees who are trained to work properly will work safely. NARS puts a priority on safe work practices, demanding that they be applied to every job, every time.

Three factors separate NARS from other training resources:

  • We offer the most advanced facilities and equipment, including the most locomotive simulators in North America.
  • Our employee training programs are the most comprehensive in the industry with hands-on, accredited programs taught in a learning environment.
  • We have the most technically proficient and industry-current instructors.

We listen and respond to what you tell us are your training and certification needs. An added bonus is that we often relieve overhead burden by reducing training costs. You also have the comfort of knowing our programs meet FRA requirements and help you improve accountability for those requirements.

Many courses are presented in our classrooms and advanced laboratories on the Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, KS. Other offerings are provided using the latest interactive technologies, including computer-based training, Web and distance learning methods. We can also customize any course to your requirements or create totally new offerings just for your employees.

TRAX/e-Learning
TRAX, our online e-learning system, is appropriate for those currently working within the railroad industry. These courses can be accessed from any location, as long as you have access to a computer and the Internet. The TRAX Learning Management System offers FRA recurrent regulatory training, 3 year re-training for Hazmat, PBL, Security Awareness, Hazardous Communication, Hearing Conservation, etc.  TRAX LMS can augment your onsite blended learning and address regulatory training gaps (for example, changes to Hearing Conservation, PBL, Hazmat, Air Brake, etc.)

'Railroad Courses' consist of multiple single lessons ($50 per person per year) and Value Packs ($225 per person per year).  Your training needs will determine whether you need a comprehensive package Value Pack, which is typically used for new hires, or single lessons to complete recurring regulatory requirements.
'IT Courses' consist of multiple single IT lessons ($50 per person per year). The IT courses work well for both officers and ground personnel for filling in the IT/software gaps in their knowledge base.
